I am starting to get obsessed with learning more and more about strobes. All I did while I was sick the last 2 days was entertain my little girl and research strobist blogs and such :) What did I learn, you ask?....that I need more gear to do what I really really want to try and do.... :( Oh well, I figured I'd give this shot a try since the weather started getting crazy last night as soon as Katie came home. I think it looks.....epic! I know, I know, another umbrella in the snow shot, but I want to print this baby on canvas and hang it, it looks that cool to me. Although trying to dry my camera and equipment off after this shoot = not fun

Glee!

We were shopping at Target the other day when we saw their accessory section had a ton of stuff at 75% off. We had tons of fun trying things on to get ideas for some photos and got Katie a hat that I thought was awesome to do a photo shoot around for like 4 dollars and because I'm married to a "gleek" a Glee t-shirt that was also $4! I wanted to try some more experiments with my strobe with Katie's new hat and t-shirt last night and it turned into a photo shoot/ advertisement campaign that I think Glee now owes me money for :) Happy Valentine's day Glee....and to my Gleek, I love you honey! There is a cool black and white close up that I think looks like it belongs in a graphic novel or film noir where she plays the femme fatale.

While the wife is at work, Daddy and his little girl decide that after dinner we would do a photo shoot together. I wanted to see what a little softer lighting with my new strobe and a little backdrop lighting would look like. Good thing I had a cute model on hand :) I only got a few pictures with the lighting as soft as I was going for thanks to an extremely mobile model and an exciting energy driving her... Lucky for me though, a spongebob squarepants tin full of mommy's tea candles provided a few shots of her occupied and still.
